Kaup, Oct 1: A postal department employee hanged herself at Avaralu Mattu near Padubidri on Monday, September 30. It is said that she was suffering from depression.
The victim has been identified as Vijayalaxmi (26), a native of Anageri village in Navalagund taluk, Dharwad district. She was living in a rented house in Avaralu Mattu village.
It is gathered that Vijayalaxmi used to suffer from bouts of depression at not having any offspring even after five years of her marriage. It is guessed that out of this frustration, she ended her life during late afternoon hours at her home by hanging.
A case about the incident was registered in Padubidri police station.
