Sullia, Oct 2: The mortal remains of Abdulla (52), who had gone missing from Jayanagara here since September 6 this year, were found from near a river within the limits of Bedagam police station limits in Kasargod district some days back. The family members of Abdulla have confirmed that the body found there was of Abdulla.

Abdulla's son, Rafiq Sullia, had filed the missing complaint about his father in Sullia police station. The police had launched a search for him. Abdulla was mentally unstable. He usually loitered around Sullia town. There was doubt about him having fallen into Payasvini river.

Abdulla's body was found lying by the side of the river near Bedagam several days later. Postmortem was conducted in the local hospital. As there was no clue about the identity of the body and claimants, funeral was performed at the graveyard of Bedagam.

After nearly three weeks, Sullia police received information from Bedagam polcie station about finding of the body and conducting its funeral. On the basis of this information, Abdulla's family members visited Bedagam police station on September 30 and identified the body on the basis of clothes found on the body which have been preserved.

At the request of the family members, final rites were performed at Ansaria Yateem Khana at Jattipalla here. The deceased is survived by wife, two sons and two daughters.
