Bengaluru: Kumaraswamy criticizes Modi for his opposing, partisan stands

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Oct 2: Former Karnataka chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, has accused Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, for owning diagonal stances on the same issue. He said that Narendra Modi's tweet on Bihar flood situation represents the dual stance owned by him in respect of different states.

He was speaking at a meet of JD(S) workers held at Dasarahalli here on Tuesday October 1. "The people of Karnataka should properly understand the step-motherly treatment he gives to Karnataka. "Modi speaks about people of Bihar becoming homeless due to floods. Has he forgotten about six lac families of Karnataka meeting similar fate?" he questioned.

He challenged the BJP leaders to respond on the issue of releasing grants to meet flood relief. He asked the people of the state to question BJP leaders on this issue. He pointed out that Modi has been conducting programmes in the United States of America, but he has no money for the flood-affected people. He said that this is the achievement of Modi.

Speaking elsewhere, former chief minister, Siddaramaiah, said that the people of Karnataka have elected BJP MPs from the state, but the Prime Minister has failed to release flood relief grant to the state. He criticized Modi for immediately responding to the needs of Bihar but totally neglecting Karnataka. He warned that if Modi overlooks Karnataka, the curse of the people will harm him.

Finance minister assures: In the meanwhile, a tweet posted by the office of union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, has promised to release flood relief grant to Karnataka soon. "Inter-ministerial coordination team had verified the landslides and flood loss and prepared the report. The tweet said that the finance ministry is moving as per this report prepared after the team toured Karnataka from August 24 to 27. The report is in final stages and funds would be released soon, the tweet assured.
