Sullia: Man electrocuted as his ladder touches electric cables above

Sullia, Oct 3: It has been reported that a person was electrocuted at Balekody on account of electric shocks on Wednesday, October 2.

The victim of this accident was Seetharam (36), son of Honnappa Gowda from Balekody in Mandekolu village in the taluk. Seetharam had been hired to work in the plantation of Balekody Krishnappa. During the work on the farm, he was holding an aluminium ladder in his hand. Accidentally the ladder came in touch with the high tension power line passing above.

Seetharam, who suffered severe burn injuries due to the electric shocks, was provided first aid at the government hospital in the town. Thereafter he was admitted into a private hospital here for advanced care. But his life could not be saved in spite of best efforts by the doctors, it is gathered.

The deceased is survived by a wife and two daughters. Sullia police have registered a case about this incident.
