Mangaluru, Oct 4: "There is no relation between Islamic Jihad and the terrorism that is taking place all over the world today. Jihad of Islam is being glorified by some vested interests in order to create rift among communities. The Ulemas' Association of India has taken out a Fatwa against such organizations," said Moulana Shafi Saadi, chief secretary of Karnataka Jamiyat association.

Moulana Shafi was speaking at the 'Souharda Samagama' programme that was organized at Hotel Ocean Pearl in the city on Wednesday, October 3 by Karanataka Muslim Jammat, DK district committee. He further said, "Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) had given a Fatwa 1400 years ago against terrorists and extremists saying that they are not true Muslims. Similarly, any Muslim, who instigates communal hatred and one who dies in activity related to such extremism is not a Muslim at all."

"This is a time where all of us have to live unitedly. Communal harmony and coordination needs to grow. The Jihad propagated in Islam is similar to the war of Kurukshetra, which was a family feud and not against any religion or caste," added Moulana Shafi Saadi.

Speaking on the occasion, Eesha Vittaladasa Swamiji of Kemaru Math said, "We are united through this programme. Let our Mangaluru be peaceful also. I pray that let our state and the country be peaceful. Let this seed of noble cause, initiated by Karanataka Muslim Jaamiyat grow into a big tree. Only a small seed is enough to fill the whole world with greenery."

Dr Ravi Santhosh Kumar S J said, "India is a country that has several religions, caste and sects. The Indian Culture is told as 'Ekam Sat Vipra Bahuda' meaning God is one but names are many. This is the greatness of our culture. I see God in everyone who is present here. Means image, mirror image and emotions are truth."
