Mumbai, Oct 7: On Sunday, in a public meeting for Maharashtra assembly polls, AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi claimed that Congress party was in such a dire state that it could not be revived even with a 'calcium injection'.

Owaisi believed that Congress was ill-advised to ignore crucial state elections of Maharashtra and Haryana.

Further, he declared that Congress no longer has a presence in the political spectrum of the country.

Along with Congress, Owaisi slammed BJP too, when he raised the concern over the bill passed in Himachal Pradesh. The bill requires a citizen to provide one-month notice for religious conversion.

"I will not be surprised if Modi brings such bill in Parliament," he said.

The AIMIM had contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra in-coalition with the Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh (BBM) of Prakash Ambedkar under the assistance of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) where the VBA had won Aurangabad Lok Sabha seat.

However, Dalits and Muslims votes split which affected many prospective Congress candidates in the Maharashtra polls.

In the 2014 assembly elections, the AIMIM had won two seats and was upset with the BBM for offering it such meagre amount of seats after which it seemed that the AIMIM-BBM alliance was over. Meanwhile, BBM chief, Ambedkar has denied the statements and said that he was always open for further discussions in this matter.
