Udupi: Car hits pedestrian, resulting in his death

Udupi, Oct 8: In an accident which happened opposite Omkara Hotel at Santhekatte near here on national highway 66 on Saturday, October 6 evening, a passerby lost his life.

The deceased pedestrian was Nagesh (40). It is gathered that Nagesh was waiting to cross the road when a car that was moving towards Santhekatte from the direction of Karavali Bypass hit him. Nagesh suffered serious injuries and passed away when being taken to the government hospital at Ajjarkad for treatment.

The driver of the car who caused this accident escaped without stopping his vehicle after causing the accident. A case in this regard was registered in the traffic police station here.
