Mangaluru: New eye ward blessed and inaugurated at Father Muller’s

Mangaluru, Oct 8: The Father Muller Charitable Institution’s, Father Muller Medical College Hospital pinned a new feather in its hat with the blessing and inauguration of the new Ophthalmology (eye department) ward U1 ON 4th October 2019. The exclusive eye care ward with 30 fully fledged beds and the best nursing care was blessed and inaugurated by Fr Richard A Coelho, the Director of FMCI in a small yet solemn service.

The need of an exclusive ward for ophthalmic care was desired to help treat in patients with chronic eye problems and eye surgery related cases with utmost care. This was echoed in the preaching of the director that the eye makes us see the world in different colours and makes us still more appreciative of God’s beautiful creations.

The Ophthalmology department headed by Dr Norman Mendonca, the Administrator FMMCH, Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, administrator FMMC, Fr Ajith Menezes, assistant administrator FMMCH, Fr Nelson Pais, chief nursing officer, Sr Janet D’Souza and the staff were present for the occasion.
