Mangaluru: New entrance of FMHMCH, grotto blessed and inaugurated at Deralakatte

Mangaluru, Oct 8: The inauguration and blessing of the New Entrance of Fr Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital (FMHMCH) and the grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes at Deralakatte was held on Monday, October 7.

Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangaluru diocese and president, FMCI, graced the occasion and inaugurated the new entrance of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital by cutting the ribbon. Fr Richard Coelho, director Father Muller Charitable Institutions, unveiled the logo, the first being heal and comfort, the motto of Father Muller Charitable Institutions and the other being Pioneer in Homoeopathy with the principle of Similia Simlibus, Curentur.



As a mark of respect to the founder, the newly erected bust of Fr Augustus Muller was garlanded by Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, followed by the blessing and prayer service.

As a part of Laudato Si, summoned By Pope Francis with the major theme of ‘A Moral And Spiritual Challenge-The Ecological Crisis’, by spreading the message of saving the bounty of the earth and ensuring its fruitfulness for coming generations. Keeping in view this message, Mangaluru diocese under the leadership of Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, has taken up the task of spreading the green cover all over Mangaluru. As a part of this campaign, saplings were planted by Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Fr Richard Coelho, director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions and Dr Shivaprasad K, prinicipal, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital campus Deralakatte as per the initiative taken by Fr Roshan Crasta, administrator.

Fr Roshan Crasta, administrator, Fr Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital welcomed the august gathering.

This was followed by a felicitation programme to the architect, engineer and contractors Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha.

Fr Richard Coelho addressed the gathering and said, “Facelift is inevitable due to its better accessibility to the patients and all those who avail service at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College.” He also urged all the doctors, nurses and all the staff to keep in mind the basic motto of ‘Heal and Comfort’ while serving the suffering Humanity.

Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, in his presidential address said, “Beauty could be described internally and externally. External beauty also plays an important role which raises expectations and creates a kind of ambience.” He mentioned that ‘when we see goodness around, we feel good within, which creates a sense of positivity among us which is a very important in the healing ministry’. Dr Shivaprasad K, principal, Fr Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, rendered the vote of thanks.

As the official stage programme concluded, the guest with the gathering moved towards the grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, blessed and inaugurated the new grotto. The grotto designer Walter Pinto was felicitated for the marvelous master piece.

The programme was graced by Rev Fr Ajith Menezes, administrator, Father Muller Medical College, Fr Sylvester Lobo, administrator, Father Muller Hospital, Thumbay, Fr Nelson Deeraj Pais, assistant administrator, Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Fr Felix and Fr George, chaplains, Father Muller Charitable Institutions, Fr Peter Noronha, founder director, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, Fr Felix Noronha, chaplain, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Dr E S J Prabhu Kiran, vice principal and Sr Janet D’souza, chief nursing officer, Sr Jacintha D’Souza, principal, FMCON, and religious sisters of different communities.

The programme was compered by Dr Sherlyn Paul and Dr Deeraj Fernandes.
