Udupi: KMC Hospital Launches Laser Programme in Urology

Udupi, Aug 1: MP D V Sadanand Gowda inaugurated the new urology laser system at Kasturba Medical College (KMC) Hospital here on Friday July 31. A comprehensive laser programme in urology launched by KMC is useful in the treatment of bladder tumours, strictures and kidney stones.




Medical superintendent of the hospital Dr Raghuraman said that lasers, a part of modern technology are ideally used for human body. Lasers are applied in clinical practice. With its use of small diameter endoscopic instruments, urology has been considerably influenced by this technology more than any other medical super speciality, which is very beneficial for patients.

Pro-chancellor of Manipal University H S Ballal and registrar G K Prabhu were present.
