Mumbai, Oct 23: A 45 year-old man from Powai here, who was allegedly harassed and blackmailed by a woman and son was found hanging dead at his residence. A suicide note left by the deceased who died on October 10 blames the woman and her son for having demanded money from him several times that drove him to take the extreme step.

The wife of the deceased in her police complaint has stated that she was aware of the woman who was blackmailing her husband. The wife had seen her husband tense and speaking to the woman over the phone when she went out on October 10 with her elder son to buy vegetables. The deceased was still speaking to the woman on the phone when their younger son returned from tuitions after about an hour. Their bedroom was locked from inside when she returned from the market. She got the door opened with help from others and found her husband hanging from the house ceiling.

A postmortem of the body was performed at Rajawadi hospital. A case is registered at Powai police station and investigations are in progress.
