Independent MLA Geeta Jain to support BJP in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Oct 28: After meeting chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday, independent MLA Geeta Jain extended her support to BJP in Maharashtra.

Geeta had defeated BJP candidate Narendra Mehta in Mira Bhayandar constituency in Thane in the October 21 assembly polls, results of which were announced on October 24.

Another rebel MLA Rajendra Raut (Barshi) also extended his support to the BJP on Sunday.

Emerging as the single largest party in Maharashtra with 105 seats, the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance won an absolute majority in the state.
