10 bar dancers rescued, 22 arrested in Mumbai bar raid

Mumbai, Nov 3: Kaka Bar and Restaurant at Laxmi Narayan Shopping Center here was raided by the Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai police on Friday night. The police rescued 10 bar dancers, arrested 22 people and seized Rs 93,930. The 22 accused were arrested under the Maharashtra Act 2016, of which 14 were customers.

Reportedly, Mahendrakumar Bhandari, the owner of the bar is a police informer. After a receiving tip-off, deputy commissioner of police (ANC), Shivdeep Lande raided the bar and rescued 10 women. The bar is known to house individuals claiming to police informers.

Back in 2015, police arrested 28 people for misconduct from the Kaka bar.
