Udupi: National Disaster Survey Committee Visits District to Assess Situation

Udupi, Aug 31: The National Disaster Survey Committee formed by the union government visited areas affected by floods and sea erosion in the district on Monday August 31.

The team formed to survey the areas affected by natural calamities will submit its report to the union government after its visit. The team visited the flood-affected areas of Siddapura, Belve, Ullur, Halady, Kundapur, Aroor, Belman, Puttur, as well as sea-erosion affected areas in Udyavara, Padukere, and Thenka Yermal in the district.







Bamathi, joint secretary of central home ministry, T M Manoj Kumar, officer from rural development department, R K Sharma, senior researcher from planning commission of India, and C R Gangadhar from road development authority, Bangalore, were part of the team.

P Hemalatha, deputy commissioner of the district, Prasanna Kumar, chief executive officer of Zilla Panchayat, and other officials were present.
