Mangalore, Sep 3: Little Flower Primary School in Kinnigoli reportedly received a threatening call on Wednesday September 2, questioning the management’s action in not declaring a holiday on August 31, after a second standard student of the school died in a tragic road accident in front of the school.
 
The caller however, refused to identify himself, the school management said. But it is said, the caller talked very rudely  with the headmistress of the school and warned  that people would organize a protest in front of the school, if  the management does not apologize for its lapse within two days. Later, it was found out that the caller had made use of a coin box from Kateel near here.

The headmistress of the school, while elaborating on the reason for not declaring a holiday that day, said that since the accident had taken place in the morning, when the children had been arriving at the school after witnessing the accident spot, it was felt that the children would be in a state of shock, and even if holiday had been declared, many of the students would have had to wait till evening for their parents or vehicles to pick them up. Moreover, the student who died in the accident was very poor and the management and teachers were busy in complying with the legal formalities like post mortem, arranging for the cremation, etc., she added.
 
A complaint has been lodged in Mulky Police Station by the school, seeking protection to the school, in the light of the said call.
