Mangaluru Dec 24: KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao said," The violence in Mangaluru is the failure of the state government.

Addressing media here on Tuesday, December 24, Dinesh Gundu Rao said, "Two innocent lives have been killed and eight others injured in the violence. I have visited the residence of the deceased. There has been widespread protest all over the country opposing CAB which claimed over 25 lives in the entire country for which Modi and Shah are responsible."

"Violence in Mangaluru is because of the failure of the state government and who hoped that such an incident should occur. There have been protests in Mangaluru where over 1 lac people gathered peacefully despite section 144 was imposed, but in the recent protest even though there were only 200-300 protestors, violence took place. BJP wants to blame Congress, create violence between Hindu and Muslim for their political mileage," he added.

Rao blamed the police for firing directly at the protestors. "The police have put false allegations that there were 7000 protestors, and they were from Kerala who tried to gherao at the Police station. Chief Minister Yediyurappa should take responsibility for the incident. We demand a judicial probe by high court judges," Rao said.

"Where are the BJP representatives why did not they visit the hospital? Where is their humanity? When you look at the statements of CT Ravi, Suresh Angadi we feel it is politically motivated, intentionally done and prove that there is the involvement of political leaders," he asserted.

"Where BJP is in power there is violence because of their communal ideologies. So it is impossible to implement CAB as many people disagree with it. A committee needs to be formed to discuss the pros and cons of the CAB, the reason for excluding the Muslim community should be discussed," Rao stated.

"The cops who are seen in the video footage need to be dismissed and also the Police commissioner needs to be dismissed as he is unfit to be commissioner and could not control protestors who were only 200-300 in number," he said.

Former MLA J R Lobo, Mohiudeen Bava, MLC Ivan D Souza and others were present.
