Udupi, Sep 18:
The non-stop singing of ‘Dasa Sahitya’ that went on for 26 hours was held recently at Geetha Mandir, here.  It was organized by Karavali Samskritika Pratistan, Dasa Sahitya Project, and Puttige Math.

Sri Sugunendrateerta Swami of Puttige Math inaugurated the singing by presenting gold bracelets and milk-filled steel goblets to the singers on the occasion.

The singers, Haridas and Jayanand Kumar Hosadurga, sang 600 Dasa Sahitya songs for 26 consecutive hours. ETV anchor Aparna congratulated both singers and said that it was a marvelous feat and was an ideal offering to Lord Sri Krishna on the occasion of Krishna Astami.

Jayanand had previously sung 425 Dasa Sahitya songs non-stop for 24 hours at the Madhwa auditorium of Sri Krishna Math here on August 12, 2007.  He had also sung 265 Dasa Sahitya songs consecutively for 17 hours and 30 minutes at Sri Mookambika Temple, Kollur, near here, on September 18, 2006.

Pratistan chairman Shivaram Kasargod, the man behind the marvelous feat, was also present throughout the event.

Swami Sugunendrateerta, speaking at the concluding ceremony, said that the Math authority will recommend that the non-stop singing of Dasa Sahitya for 26 hours be incorporated in both the Guinness Book of World Records and the Limca Book of Records.
