Mumbai, Jan 20: Kalajagathu here, held a two-day long Global Tulu Conference at Kandivli Poisar here in the morning of Janary 18. Veteran author Dr Sunita M Shetty presided over the conference.

North Mumbai Loksabha MP Gopal C Shetty hoisted the flag. Global Bunts Federation president, Aikala Harish Shetty pulled the Tulu chariot. Bunts Sangha Mumbai president Padmanabha S Payyade symbolically set the conference in motion.

Thonse Vijayakumar Shetty welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests. Navin Shetty Yedkemar and Surendra Kumar Hegde compered the programme. A poetry conference was held in the afternoon presided over by author Shimanthoor Chandrahasa Suvarna. Several Tulu poets presented their poems. Several cultural programmes added glamour. Guests and Tulu Kannadigas were present in large numbers.



Singing competition, musical item from Prapthi Shetty and party, Srilatha Balaga, Kajal Kunder and party, dances by Priyanjali Rao and party, Tulu Janapada dances by Laxmi Devadiga, cultural programme from Panvel artistes and music by Shailaja A Shetty and Vijay Shetty Mira Road were part of the programme.

Tulu dramas Manni and Moksha directed by Lathesh M Poojary and Dr Thonse Vijayakumar Shetty were presented.
