SBI revises cash withdrawal charges for BSBD accounts from Oct 1

Daijiworld Media Network – New Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 21: State Bank of India (SBI) has announced revised cash withdrawal charges for Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts opened through the branch channel, with the new charges coming into effect from October 1, 2026.

Under the revised schedule, BSBD account holders will continue to receive four free cash withdrawals in a month. However, withdrawals beyond the first four will attract a charge of Rs 15 per transaction, along with applicable GST.

SBI announced the revision through a public notice and said the new charges would apply to BSBD accounts opened through the branch channel under Product Code 1011-1701.

The bank has also clarified that digital transactions will continue to remain free without any restriction.

For instance, if a customer makes six cash withdrawals through the branch channel in a month, the first four transactions will remain free. The fifth and sixth withdrawals will each attract a charge of Rs 15 plus GST.

The Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account is designed to provide essential banking services without requiring customers to maintain a minimum balance. It allows customers to carry out basic transactions such as deposits and withdrawals, subject to the applicable terms and limits.

The revised charges will primarily affect customers who make more than four cash withdrawals through the branch channel in a month. SBI has advised account holders to take note of the updated charges and applicable service conditions.
