Mangalore: Police Custody for Alleged Heroin Peddlers

Mangalore, Oct 9: The two persons, who were arrested from Kulshekhar in the city on Wednesday on the charges of selling heroin, have been remanded to police custody till October 12.

Mohammed Niljar, a resident of Convent View, Kulshekhar and Aaron Roshan from Kulshekhar, had been arrested by the policemen and 510 grams of heroin worth Rs 55,53,000 had been seized from them, in addition to two two-wheelers and a mobile phone. On Wednesday, a case was registered in the rural police station here, against the two.

The policemen submitted before the chief sessions court in the city, that they suspect that a mega racket has been functioning in the city to sell heroin and other drugs, and sought police custody of the two, to conduct thorough investigations into this possibility. The court accordingly, ordered police custody for the accused till Monday.
