Bengaluru, Feb 17: The Congress has decided to create discomfort for the BJP by raising issues like its administrative failure, dual stands on certain issues, and discriminatory politics. If the governor makes a mention about the Citizenship Amendment Act in his address, the party also has decided to stage a protest.

These decisions were taken at a legislature party meeting of the Congress held on Sunday at a private hotel here in the light of the joint session of the legislature beginning on Monday. These legislators will again meet on Monday at 10 am to discuss the issues. These legislators have been asked to be present during the session and raise issues concerning government failures and take active part in deliberations.

It is said that former minister D K Shivakumar, is unhappy at the fact that the Congress has not fielded any candidate for the lone seat in the council for which election is being held today. He raised this topic at a meeting held in opposition leader Siddaramaiah’s residence on Sunday evening. Siddaramaiah replied that fielding of a candidate from minority community had been thought of initially, but this proposal was dropped at the last minute as the party does not have enough strength in the assembly to make him victorious.
