Kundapur, Feb 18: Kundapur district and session judge has rejected the bail application of Sunil alias Keppe (23) who is in jail regarding the murder of a minor female student at Othinene, Byndoor four and a half years ago. Justice Narahari Prabhaker Marathe has ordered rejection of the bail application.

Yedthare residents Sunil (19) and Akshay (19) were arrested by police and produced in the court in connection with the murder that took place on June 17, 2015. Akshay was released on bail, but Sunil was refused bail as he was the primary accused.

"The court has conducted investigations and there is no room for the destruction of evidence," stated defence lawyer in the application for bail. But the court opined that as the hearing of officials and experts is pending and the case is in final stages, it is not right to provide bail and rejected the application. It is said that the final hearing of the case is likely to be held in June 2020.
