Udupi, Feb 20: A house constructed on government land at Badanidiyooru, near Tottam was demolished under the leadership of Udupi tahsildar Pradeep Kurdekar on Wednesday, February 20.

A local middleman had cheated a person called Sattar by giving fake documents making him believe that the land was a private one. Sattar constructed the house on the land.

“The land belongs to the government. We demolished it when we received information. We had informed those who constructed the house about it over the phone. Neither permission nor directions were obtained before its construction,” said the officials.

Police station SI Thimmesh and staff were present at the spot.
