Kasargod: Snake bite claims life of Anganwadi teacher

Kasargod, Feb 20: Prameela Shetty (52), a teacher of Bambrana Andithadka Anganwadi near Kumble, lost her life after a poisonous snake bit her on Tuesday, February 18.

Prameela, wife of Jaya Shetty residing near Bambrana Katta, had completed her duty at the Anganwadi. After returning home the evening, she was busy attending to agricultural work in her farm, when a poisonous snake bit her. She collapsed to the ground, and was taken to private hospitals at Kumble and Uppala but her life could not be saved.

Prameela, daughter of Taniappa Shetty and Anthakke couple from Kurudapadavu Karuvolu in Paivalike, was a hard working teacher and agriculturist. She is survived by two sons.
