Jaipur, March 19 (IANS): Several famous places of worship in Rajasthan, like Khatushyam and Govinddevji temples here, have shut doors for devotees till March 31 in the wake of Covid-19 crisis. Several renowned fairs and festivals have also been cancelled in the state.

The devotees, queued outside the Khatushyam temple here, were informed of the closure on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the Brahma temple was closed for devotees. While the regular rituals, including aarti, will take place, the temple will remain closed for devotees. A LED screen has been set up outside the temple to broadcast the aarti.

The renowned Krishna temple of Nathdwara, near Udaipur, has cut eight darshans to four. It's the first time in 348-year known history of the temple that devotees won't have all eight darshans.

Similarly, the Mehandipur Balaji temple has been closed.

Restrictions have been imposed on Wuzu at the Ajmer dargah. Tap water shall be used for the same.

The Sanwaliya temple in Chittaurgarh shall remain closed to public from 12 to 2.30 p.m.

Also, devotees at the Ramdevra temple can only offer prayers thrice a day, and not throughout the day.

Many big fairs and festivals, including Shekhwati Tourist festival, Gangaur mela, Mewar Festival and Kailadevi Lakhi Mela have been cancelled.

The religious heads of different communities have urged people to stay at home and pray there till March 31 in the wake of coronavirus threat.
