Karkala, Mar 21: On Friday, March 20, Hebri Brahmashree Naryaana Guru Sangha handed over a petition to the district superintendent of police through the station house officer of Hebri.

The Sangha has accused a person from Mudrady of misusing his Facebook account to pass sacrilegious and irreverent remarks about Gejjegiri, a place held in reverence by one and all. The Sangha said that the person concerned had hurt the religious beliefs of people through his act.

The name of the accused has been given as Vivek Hegde from Balladi Doddamane, Mudrady. President of the Sangha, H Jayakar Poojary, has urged the police to take legal action against the accused as such acts meddle with the health of the society in the twin-districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada where people from different sects and castes live in harmony.
