Kozhikode, Mar 26: Around 13 girls who were travelling from Hyderabad to Kerala were left stranded in the middle of nowhere after state lockdown was announced. The group of girls then decided to call Pinarayi Vijayan at 1.30 am on Wednesday.
One of the girls from the group, Kozhikode Puthiyappa native M R Athira, a staff of Hyderabad Tata Consultancy Service, said that the chief minister was understanding and assured to help the women reach home as soon as possible.

As per the girls, they travelled by a Tempo Traveller on Tuesday by 7 am. Reportedly, the tempo driver assured to drop the girls safely to Kerala, however, changed his mind halfway in the journey and dropped them only till Kerala border.
Soon they reached the Muthanga check post. As the girls felt it was not safe to alight in the forest region in Muthanga during midnight, they decided to go to Tholpetty. During these hours, they tried calling several people for help. They even reached out to top officials, but none offered to help. In the end, their only hope was the chief minister. Upon contacting the chief minister, the girls received the needed help as Vijayan pacified the group and asked them to contact the Wayanad collector and SP.
The SP of Wayanad promised that an alternate facility to continue the journey will be arranged by the time they reach Tholpetty. Once the group reached Tholpetty, they washed hands and got their checked temperature. Within 20 minutes, Thirunelli SI AU Jayaprakash arrived with a vehicle and helped every girl reached their home safely.
