Bengaluru, Mar 26: 180 Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses would be taking the city roads fro today onward. These buses are being run to help the staff running essential services to move to their workplaces and back.

BMTC stated that the staff deployed to operate essential services have to produce the curfew passes for essential services employees being issued by the city police. It said that along with passes, the staff have to show the identity cards of the concerns which have employed them.

The corporation has told its staff to take care to maintain social distance, not to allow more people to board the buses, and not to accommodate over 20 passengers in each bus.

Staff manning Bangalore Electricity Supply Company, water and sewerage board, BMTC, employees of some government departments, police, government and private doctors, nurses, ward boys, the staff of medical shops, security personnel, bank employees and officers, blood donors and some other categories of employees are eligible to travel by these buses.
