Bengaluru: DCM asks concerned to utilise residential schools for quarantine

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Mar 28: Karnataka deputy chief minister (DCM), Govind Karjol, who also happens to be the minister for social welfare, has asked the health department to make use of residential schools to quarantine people in the war against coronavirus pandemic.

He pointed out that the students of residential schools have been given summer holidays and therefore there is no one in these schools at present. "Residential schools and student hostels located in all the districts and taluks are located in spacious areas with all the facilities. They have basic infrastructure like separate rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, library etc," he pointed out.

He felt that the residential schools and student hostels that are located away from the densely populated areas can be used as quarantine centres. He said that the district administrations are free to make use of these facilities.
