Mangalore: Three-day Holiday for Schools for Vishwa Tulu Sammelan

Mangalore, Dec 3: In view of the Vishwa Tulu Sammelan scheduled to be held in Ujire from December 10 to 13, holiday has been declared for all the higher primary and high schools in Beltangady taluk, from December 10 to 13.

The schools functioning within the city limits will have holiday on December 10, while those located in Mangalore and Bantwal taluks besides Moodbidri block, will have holiday on December 12. A release by the office of the deputy director, department of public instruction of the district, has advised the staff to set off the effective shortage of school duty days due to this arrangement, by working on holidays.

    You are right Radhika ,.. i agree with you.The kids dont have anything to do in a sammelan.The paticipating kids if any in cultural events can be only given off

    The school should be closed on Vishwa Kannada days,Konkani days too.What about Byari & Kodava too.Let's have many many days of holidays, so that our children would "LEARN" a lot about various languages...huh ? Does that make sense? God save our land !!!

    Holiday is not being justified for these occasions. Tulu today, holidays for 2000 dialects )in India) tomorrow. Each dialect wll demand a holiday. Not a fair idea. Education should not be confused with Sammelana's.
