Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Dec 3: The Sullia court has handed over serial killer Mohan Kumar to the custody of the local police inspector till December 7, as per the body warrant sought by the local policemen, to investigate the murder of Sunanda from Bellare near here.

The lifeless body of Sunanda, who had left Bellare on February 11, 2008, was found in Mysore bus stand at 7 pm. The gold ornaments on her body and Rs 25,000 she had withdrawn from the bank, had disappeared. However, the policemen realized that this was the handiwork of Mohan Kumar, only after 18 months. A mobile phone had been found with Sunanda then, and the policemen perhaps, would have been able to pinpoint the killer, if they had shown interest to track the mobile calls.

A relative of Sunanda was aware that she knew Mohan, but Mohan had called Sunanda’s home later, to say that he was clueless about her whereabouts. The forensic report that Sunanda was killed because of cyanide consumption was received recently, just three days before Mohan Kumar was held by the policemen.
