Mangalore: ‘Samvata-2009’ Begins at Sahyadri College of Engineering on Dec 4

Mangalore, Dec 4:
‘Samvata–2009’, a district-level youth festival, will be held at Sahyadri College Campus, Adyar, from Friday December 4 to Sunday December 6. 

The event is being organized in association with the state public instruction department, Bangalore, city-based NSS–District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), and Sahyadri Group of Education Institutions.
 
Assistant commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalikatte will inaugurate the youth festival at 11.00 am on Friday. 
 
DIET principal and director (development) Philomena Lobo will preside over the programme.
 
Mangalore University vice-chancellor Dr Chinnappa Gowda and Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management principal Dr D L Prabhakar will be the chief guests. 
 
Manjunath Bhandary, chairman, Sahyadri Group of Education Institutions and Bhandary Foundation, will be present on the occasion. The valedictory ceremony will be held at 3.00 pm on Sunday. 
 
Dakshina Kannada ZP president Santhosh Kumar Bhandary, ZP chief executive officer P Shivashankar, and state NSS programme co-ordinator H D Govindayya, will be the chief guests.
 
University College Kannada lecturer Dr Satyanarayan Mallipatna, will preside over the programme.
 
Mangalore University NSS co-ordinator Dr Gananath Yekkar will deliver the valedictory address on the occasion.
 
Philomena Lobo will also attend the valedictory function.
