Mangalore: Complaint of Trespass and Assault against BJP Corporator

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Dec 4: Two complaints were filed against each other by John D’Souza, a Congress activist from Basavanagar Colony in Jyotinagar, Kujattabail in the city, and BJP corporator of the area, Sharat.

Reportedly, Sharat had promised to the residents of Basavanagar, that the slanting road in that locality would be repaired soon. As the road did not see any repairs even after considerable time, John D’Souza, perhaps not willing to let go of the the opportunity, is said to have called Sharat at around 9 pm on Tuesday December 2 over his mobile phone, and derided him for his failure. Angered by the fact that a Congress activist had slighted him, Sharat reportedly barged into the house of D’Souza with a few of his supporters later that night and beat up D’Souza. The women members of the family, who tried to save John, also were not spared.

Although none of the family members bear any injury marks, five members of the family got admitted into a hospital. John has filed a complaint against the said corporator and his supporters, Diwakar, Sanat and others charging them with trespass and assault. Sharat also has complained to the policemen that John had called him over phone and used derogatory language about his parents.

Both the cases have been registered at the police station. Investigations are on.
