Shimoga: Burglary in Jewellery Shop – Ornaments Worth Rs 50 lac Stolen

Shimoga, Dec 7: In the early hours on Sunday December 6, thieves broke into Arihant Jewellery located on Nehru Road here, and decamped with gold ornaments worth over Rs 50 lac. The incident came to light when the owner of the shop, Champaklal Jain, came to the shop to open it in the morning on Sunday.

The thieves, who entered into the shop by breaking open the shutters, have taken almost all the gold ornaments found in the shop, including bangles, chains, rings, etc. However, they have not laid their hands on the silver ornaments and goods worth several lacs of rupees, found in the shop.

Finger print experts conducted investigations. Circle inspector of Kote police station in the town, Vasant Kumar, sub-inspector, Harish K Patil and other personnel visited the spot and registered a case on a complaint by Jain.
