Bantwal, Apr 7: Three different complaints were filed in Bantwal town police station on Monday, April 6 alleging that communally provocative coronavirus-connected posts have been uploaded in certain social websites.

SDPI Bantwal municipal committee member Anwar Aladka has filed a complaint against Santosh Gowda living near Nandavara mosque. SDPI Nandavar branch member Farooq Nandavar has complained against Santosh Kumar from Koppal, while Popular Front of India BC Road secretary Abdurrahim Parlia filed a complaint against Sunil Poojary from Pallamajalu.

In their complaints, the complainants stated that the three who uploaded posts relating to coronavirus derided Muslims, Islam religion, mosques, and Muslim priests. They said that the posts have termed Muslims as spreaders of viruses and called upon people to stop conducting business with them. It is also claimed that there is a call to kill the Muslims by pelting stones or firing bullets at them.

They said that this is part of an effort to disrupt peace in the society and ignite communal clashes. Therefore, they have urged the police to arrest the concerned and initiate legal steps against them.
