Bangalore: Siddu Bitter about Deve Gowda, Janardan Reddy

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Dec 8: Leader of the opposition in the state legislative assembly, Siddaramaiah, has clarified that his attitude towards Deve Gowda will not change, just because of the Congress has struck an understanding with his party for the council election. “Why I should change? Where ever the understanding is in vogue, the respective party voters would be asked to cast their votes for the other party candidates. There will not be any joint campaigning,” he added, asserting that the party would not share dais with the JDS leaders. He clarified that the alliance with the JDS is for a temporary period for the council election, the only motive of the party behind this decision being to defeat the BJP.

Reacting to Janardan Reddy’s statement that he could politically finish off the political career of Siddu, the Congress leader said that Reddy, who has come to politics to rob the state, does not have manners, neither does he know anything about democracy. He does not seem to realize that the people who voted us to power are our masters, he added.

Addressing a protest organized at Bellary by the block Congress Committee against the failures of the BJP government on Monday December 7, Siddaramaiah strongly reacted to the comment made by Reddy about his community. He said that the statement of Reddy reeks of arrogance. “Reddy, an ordinary man, has no powers to either bring me up or finish me off. Janardan Reddy was moving about in a two-wheeler, Luna, till 2003. In the name of companies for which Andhra Pradesh government has granted him licences, he is looting the forest areas of the state. Yeddyurappa feels threatened by him, and therefore, has been protecting the Reddy brothers,” he commented.

Speaking at Kollegal, Siddaramaiah called Yeddyurappa a great liar, for forgetting the farmers after promising free power during electioneering. "Power minister Eshwarappa is a Gurkha. He says he would supply uninterrupted power, but there have been lot of power cuts. Perhaps the situation may improve if the minister i subjected to shock treatment," he ridiculed.
