Udupi: Sarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava Samithi distributes food kits to 50 families

Udupi, Apr 19: Sarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava Samithi, Bhagyamandira, Chitpady in association with Ramesh Kanchan, CMC member distributed food kits to 50 families of the locality.

Speaking on the occasion Ramesh Kanchan said "This lockdown has put many into trouble. To serve the needy our association has joined hands in distributing these food kits. Today is the 26th day of lockdown. Its a crucial time. Over 50 households are distributed with these food kits. Maintain social distancing and cleanliness."

The food kits included rice, sugar, tea powder, toor dal, jaggery and other essential items. Sudhakar Bhandary, Ganesh Urala, Padmanabha Kamath and other office bearers were present on the occasion.

Food kits were personally distributed to the needy at their doorstep by the team.

He also led a team to distribute food kits to Asha workers of City Primary Health Center here on Saturday, April 18.

The food kit contains nine items which include rice, wheat, grocery, tea powder, jaggery and other items.

As many as 35 kits were distributed by Nagarathna taluk health office, she said, "Asha workers are working very hard every day by visiting door to door for health check-up since the lockdown. We are recognizing their efforts respecting their sincere effort."

Ramesh Kanchan said, "Asha workers are committed to their duty and are putting their best effort helping others. So, I thought it is more necessary to help them too. It would give little relief to them."

Dr Hemanth physician, City Community Health Center, ward members Shekhar Shetty Bannanje, Mallesh, Ananth Krishna Prabhu were present.
