RSS 'Shakha' app helps in holding shakhas


Varanasi, Apr 20 (IANS): The Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) has gone digital in Corona times.

RSS volunteers of Kashi Prant are now downloading the 'Shakha app' on their smart phones to connect with each other and take up organizational activities online as well as offline.

The app, developed by Rajasthan RSS volunteers, has nine components -- Shakha, Yog, Shakha Paddhati, Geet, Subhashit, Amrit Vachan, Khel, Prathana and Vikir (whistle).

The app explains in detail, the types of Shakhas that are being organized and categorized, including Prabhat Shakha, Sandhya Shakha, Ratri Shakha, Milan and Sangh Mandali.

In Yoga component, volunteers are given information about the eight parts of Yoga -- Yam, Niyam, Aasan, Pranayam, Pratyahar, Dharna, Dhyan and Samadhi.

In Shakha Paddhati, there are details of organizing shakhas and also the right method of holding it.

The Geet component teaches volunteers about masik (month) song, sewa geet, kavya geet, etc.

Similarly, Subhashit, Amrit Vachan, Khel, Vikir and Prathana provide the details of activities that are required to be held in a shakha.

The app also narrates and provides other important information on activities like Ekatmata strot, Bodh Katha, big stories, baudhik (mental exercise), bhajan-kirtan, Ayurvedic treatment, books, news, details of meeting and also how to connect or join the Sangh online.

RSS Kashi Prant pracharak Ramesh Ji said, "Around 1.5 lakh active workers of the organization in Kashi Prant are taking up organizational activities online as well as offline."

He said that these active workers are attending 2,625 shakhas in 25 district units and 151 blocks across Kashi Prant.

"Both, active members, as well as those who are connected with organization directly or indirectly, are aware about the Shakha app and most of them are downloading it," said Kishan Chandra, Vibhag Pracharak.

"Convinced by the app's utility, we are encouraging volunteers in Kashi Prant to download it and use it to further organizational activities. The volunteers are maximizing the use of Shakha app to connect with each other and take up online as well as offline activities," he added.

He further said that the app is useful for all Sangh volunteers.

    Before than that kindly read a book called RSS Antharanga wriitten by AK Subbaih who once upon a sanghi stalwart and came out of it. This book tells inside story of what is RSS, what are the hidden agenda, etc. There are other books also which expose the RSS.
