Daijiworld Media Network - Dharwad (SP)

Dharwad, Apr 20: Two liquor addicts who were depressed since the declaration of lockdown, had consumed sanitizer to satiate their urge. Both breathed their last on Sunday, April 19 at a hospital.

The victims have been identified as Basavaraj Venkappa Kuruvinakoppa (45) and Jambavva Irappa Kattimani (50), both from Gambyapura village in Kalaghatagi taluk. After drinking sanitizer provided by donors along with food kits for three days, both of them had fallen sick. They were then admitted into Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences at Hubballi here.

Both of them were hankering for liquor. As they did not get liquor, they had chosen to drink sanitizer instead, sources stated.
