Bantwal: Leopard falls into well, rescued

Bantwal, Apr 20: A leopard which fell into a well at Maji, Thumbe in the taluk and was struggling to come out, was lifted safely in a joint operation of the forest department, fire service and police personnel.

The leopard had fallen in a six feet deep well at night in the land belonging to Maji Monappa. Veterinary doctor who examined it said that it is about two years old. It was then shifted to a safer place.

Zonal forest officer Sridhar, assistant zonal officer Preetham, staff Jithesh, Bhasker, Vinay, Sooraj, Jayaram, Bantwal rural police station SI Prasanna, Snake Kiran and fire service staff took part in the operation.
