Bengaluru: Padarayanapura violence could be pre-conceived conspiracy

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Apr 21: The police officers think that the assault on health workers at Padarayanapura could be part of a pre-conceived plan. Sources point out that 125 persons came out all of a sudden, which gives an indication that they were waiting in advance to indulge in this disturbance. They also say that the aim of the vandals was to make sure that the suspected corona infected person is retained at home without being shifted to a hotel as proposed. Some people who were in the crowd, were not aware of the aim behind this assault.

Some participants of the disturbances were from the same area with some being members of certain organizations. They had created problems in the past too. There is a need to conduct investigation about their participation in the current incident, some officials said. They said that the suspicion about their role in the disturbances cannot be ruled out at this juncture.

A police officer involved with the investigation said that the people were waiting for an opportunity to conduct this raid on Sunday night and vitiate the atmosphere.

Police are being blamed for their failure to foresee the situation in advance and for failing to control the situation effectively. A retired police officer feels that considering the notoriety of the area raided and the violence unleashed in the past, the police should have been more careful, adding that more police force should have been deployed there.
