Bantwal: Vegetable shop catches fire at Vittal

Bantwal, Apr 28: A vegetable shop located at the main junction here caught fire on Monday evening. Various things including cash and vegetables were gutted in the fire.

The fire got ignited in the shop, named B K Vegetables Shop, due to short circuit. Vittal police arrived at the spot after they were informed, broke the lock and put some items out before they burnt down. The fire also got transferred to a nearby bakery. The vegetable shop suffered maximum loss, the amount of which is yet to be assessed.

The firemen with support from the police and locals doused the fire sometime later.
