Mangaluru, Apr 28: MLA U T Khader has assured to Talapady border residents that police pass will be provided to tempos bringing grocery on the strength of panchayat letter. “Two-wheeler riders will be allowed one to and from trip on production of identity proof. Auto-rickshaw drivers can cross the border road only for emergency medical help on the basis of letter from the concerned hospital,” he said.

He was speaking in a meeting of Talapady border villagers and police personnel on Tuesday.

“Villagers inside the check post are facing problems because Talapady is on the border. They can proceed in vehicles producing necessary documents. It is not possible to roam around unnecessarily in the current situation. As people from Kerala are likely to come from inner roads, the police personnel have to follow the directions of the district administration. The number of deaths due to coronavirus in the district will increase to three. The condition in the hospital of old lady infected with the virus is critical. People should cooperate in this connection,” he said.

Allowing Keralites is like allowing corona in: ACP

Assistant police commissioner Kodandaram said that people from Kerala are travelling in auto-rickshaws after obtaining passes. “Allowing a person from Kerala to pass by is like allowing coronavirus to pass by. The condition of the district is serious. The condition of third infected person is critical. A person infected once has to live with problems the whole life. Police personnel are guarding the border so that people from Kerala may not pass by,” he said.

Ullal police station inspector Anil Kumar, Talapady gram panchayat members Vaibhav Shetty, Vinay Shetty and others were present.

    Heights!!!!
Out of 176 infections, now only 14 are active in Kasaragod District.
There are no active cases in border areas, there have been not even one infection in border areas.
Situation in Karnataka is very bad now. Also, Kasaragod District is at present much better than DK district in Covid with only 14 active and ZERO deaths.
