Moodbidri, Apr 29: A motorbike-borne youth who had escaped after hitting a barricade at the Puchamogaru checkpost on the border between Moodbidri and Bantwal taluks, attacked a youth who had stopped him. The stabbing incident happened near Taccode cross on Tuesday, April 28.
The injured man, identified as Pachchu alias Shivakumar from Karinje, who has multiple stab injuries all over his body, stands admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru. It is learnt that he is out of danger.
On Tuesday, a youth who came on a motorbike from Bantwal had collided with the barricade at the said checkpost before proceeding. Three young men who saw this chased him in three motorbikes. When he was intercepted at Taccode cross and questioned, he reportedly stabbed Shivakumar indiscriminately all over his body before fleeing.
The police have now launched an operation to nab the culprit.
