Mangaluru: Threat to apartments association president - Accused held

Mangaluru, Apr 30: A person who entered an apartment complex illegally when lockdown norms were in place, also allegedly posed death threat to the president of the Apartments Owners Association there. Based on a report filed by the association, the policemen of Barke station here have arrested Vivek Shettigar (40), a resident of Ballalbagh here.

The accused reportedly tried to enter the said apartment located at Ballalbagh on April 23 afternoon, but the watchman on duty had stopped him. Later, apartments association president M Chandra Shetty came there and reminded Shettigar that he had been told even in the past, that except residents of the complex, no one else would be allowed inside during the lockdown. He also questioned Shettigar's intention in repeatedly entering the apartment building even after clarifying this position.

The accused then used abusive words against Chandra Shetty. He went away after posing a death threat to him, it is said.

A case relating to this incident had been registered in Barke police station.
