Moodbidri, Apr 30: In quick action by police, a person accused of attempt to murder was arrested within 24 hours after the incident.
Farangipete resident Hyder has been identified as the arrested. Hyder reportedly tried to stab Puchemogaru resident Shivakumar with a knife.
Moodbdiri MLA Umanath Kotian who was informed, admitted Shivakumar to A J Hospital with help from locals and directed the police to immediately arrest the accused.
The police team led Moodbidri police station sub-inspector Dinesh Kumar got down to operation under the leadership of ACP Beliappa. They gathered information of the accused having links with cattle thieves and arrested Hyder within 24 hours of the incident.
