Udupi: Miscreants Stone Bus – KSRTC Driver Loses Eyesight

Udupi, Dec 31: A Volvo bus belonging to Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation was stoned by some unknown miscreants on the night of Tuesday December 29. As the bus, bound for Bangalore from the town, was passing in front of Halima Sabju Auditorium in Udyavar near here, a couple of youths who came on a motor bike, threw stones at the bus and sped away.

The glass splinters of the window shields entered into both the eyes of the bus driver, Ramesh Ningappa Meti (43). He was immediately admitted into a hospital. Treatment is on. The Kaup policemen, who have registered a case, are investigating.
