Treasurer of the temple Padmaraj R says, "The rice distribution programme was started due to the suggestion of B Janardhan Poojary, former union minister and the brain behind the development of Kudroli temple. Initially, we had a plan of distributing 100 quintal rice. But as the demand grew we have distributed 268 quintal rice so far."

Many organizations throughout the district have also placed a demand for rice and we are distributing to everyone. Also, the temple gives food to more than 1,000 migrant labourers from outstation districts and states. From March 26, this work is being done by the temple authorities.

Kudroli temple has become a role model for many organizations in the district. Many of them take rice from the temple and add some other grocery items and make a kit and give it to the poor people.

"Sri Gokarnanatha temple of Kudroli has carved a niche of its own in the religious and educational field right from its inception," said Padmaraj R, treasurer of the temple.
