Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Jan 2: A girl, who had consumed a ‘Laddu’ bought from the market, lost her life later. Her younger sister also has become ill after eating the Laddu.

Ganashree (9), daughter of Adpangaya Shashidhar from Ajjavar village in the taluk, who was a fourth standard student, had eaten the Laddu after coming home from school on Thursday December 31. After sometime, she complained of uneasiness and started vomiting. She breathed her last while being taken to the hospital. The doctor said that while vomitting, the Laddu got stuck in the throat, causing asphyxiation.

Shreya (4), Ganashree’s sister, who also fell ill, vomited a few times. However, she is responding to treatments at the hospital.

If only all the school-going children are taught the First-Aid & CPR methods this tragedy could have been averted. But arrest the laddu seller first for causing food poisoning in the first place.
