Kundapur: Man complains of gang attack for objecting illegal borewell

Kundapur, May 4: A person has registered a complaint in a rural police station here, alleging that he was attacked by a gang for objecting an attempt to rig an illegal borewell.

Shekhar Shetty from Mukkodu in Neralakatte Karkunje near here stated that his relative, Jayaprasad Shetty, had begun to illegally rig a borewell in a disputed land pertaining to him. He said that he questioned this illegal act at which a gang of seven including Ajit, Rama, Laxman and others assaulted him.

He said that Jayaprasad Shetty, Ajit and Laxman had recently come here from abroad and Bengaluru and therefore were under mandatory home quarantine as per rules. He pointed out that they violated the quarantine rule, came out from their quarantine at Balikere and beat him up.
